    Northern Homes Community Development Corporation, Inc. is a non-profit organization focused on creating affordable housing. We incorporated in 1998 and received 501(c) 3 designation that same year.

We’ve Come a Long Way

Apartment Development Program

We currently own 140 apartments and manage
4 properties. 

When the staff and board became concerned about the management of Maple Village I and II and Bellaire Senior Apartments in 2007, we decided to take over the property management ourselves. Becoming more involved in the day to day operations allowed us to see the source of problems and determine how to address them.

In the past three years, we have seen improvements in the financial and physical condition of the apartments. We have filled vacancies, cut costs, improved contracts, and added new landscaping to the area.

Our renters couldn’t be happier.

Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance

  • Homebuyers that meet program guidelines may receive up to $10,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance.  The average amount of assistance is $5,000.

Rehabilitation

  • Rehabilitation includes items that may need to be repaired or replaced during the first few years of homeownership, such as: new furnace, updated electrical systems, new roof, etc.  Improvements for energy efficiency such as insulation and replacement windows are also eligible. Up to $25,000 is available for rehabilitation.  The average amount of assistance is $10,000.

Foreclosure Prevention Counseling

If you are having trouble making mortgage payments we can help you develop a plan for getting through this tough time.  Did you call your mortgage company, but coundn't get the help or answers you needed?  You are not alone.
